My Icelandic photography mate, Skarpi Thrainsson, parked his 4 wheel drive on top of the Crater of the Lake, Ljótipollur, which translated means ugly puddle or ugly pound. Like most craters that have lakes within them, they can be exceptionally scenic and photogenic. At the top you also get a nice view of the Tungnaá River and inside of the crater.
